The common man who always depended on egg and Tomatoes for his curry is in deep trouble now. The egg is costing around Rs 6 each and the Tomatoes may reach Rs 100 per Kg in the due course of time.
Tomato onion curry is a common feature in rural and rich families but with the cost of Tomatoes going up they are keeping away from this regular vegetable.
A poor family which cannot afford to eat non veg depended on eggs but they are costly. Some schools are finding it difficult to give eggs to children in the mid- day meals.
The supplier cannot give them in the agreed upon rate as the egg is costing Rs 6 each now.
In general the prices of vegetables are going up in Hyderabad as the production has come down in and around twin cites. People now cannot switch to Tamarind also as it is also very costly now. In some bakeries the egg puff rate has gone up due to hike in egg prices.
