International Yoga Day is observed today to spread awareness about the benefits of yoga. This year it is the 8th edition of the International Yoga Day.
The main event of the International Yoga Day 2022 demonstration will be held at Mysuru, Karnataka. It will be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The next event of prominence was celebrated here in Hyderabad and was led by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu. Union minister Kishan Reddy MPs MLAs and others also participated in the Yoga event this morning.
Modi tweeted: Tomorrow, 21st June will be marked as International Yoga Day. Guided by the theme of ‘Yoga For Humanity’, let us make this Yoga Day a success and further popularise Yoga.
Railways stated:Yoga for improving flexibility & building strength! Urdhva Dhanurasana stretches the chest, shoulder & hamstring muscles, strengthens the spinal cord & stimulates the adrenal glands.
Yoga helps to deal with these types of issues. It helps us to build up psycho-physiological health, emotional harmony; and manage daily stress and its consequences.
On 21 June 2015, it was celebrated for the first time. The day spread awareness about the importance and effects of yoga on the health of people. The word ‘yoga’ is derived from Sanskrit which means to join or to unite.
