Popular writer and actor of Tollywood Gollpauid Maruthi died today. He was unwell since last one year. He died in Chennai in a private hospital while undergoing treatment.
He acted in more than 250 films. He was also a journalist for some time. He acted in street plays, wrote street plays and had a great love for the theatre.
Maruthi Rao has three sons. One of them was a director also. He wrote the screenplay for the movie DrChakravarthi movie in 1963. His into Ramaiah and Veedhilo Krishnaiah was one of the big hits of his career with Chiranjeevi the superstar. He was close to K Vishwanath the director.
He works for small screen also and is very popular with the TV medium. A soft-spoken man who always stuck to values and never stooped donw for Work or money.
