There are around 6 lakh people working in the IT companies in Hyderabad. Now they are working from home. If they go to the office, people like cab drivers, food suppliers, tea suppliers, servants, water bottle sellers, security and other supporting staff will get employment again.
A lot of supporting service people who are on outsourcing mode have lost their work and earning as the techies are working from home.
Telangana IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan says that if these IT employees go to the office, several others will get employment in the process. There is no spike in the Covid conditions after the second wave he pointed out.
Taking others livelihood into serious account, the techies must consider the option of going back to the office for work. We need to sensitise IT professionals about those 20-30 lakh people whose basic needs depend on the offices opening again.
The breakfast sellers on the streets were also affected by the concept of work from home. The Pan, Gutkha and the cigarette sellers are also wanting the IT offices to function.
The power consumption of Techies at home has gone up and the IT offices are saving a lot on the power front as the offices are not functioning. It is better if the IT employees go to the office and save others also with some work or the other.
The Cab drivers will be the first group to get the employment back.
