Worlds largest religious gathering Kumbh Mela begins

Allahabad is all set to witness lakhs of pilgrims and tourists who would be coming to take a holy dip at the Sangam here. People will be coming here for the next 48 days. The Government has made all kinds of arrangements and suggested to postpone some of the local events so that the pilgrims will not have any problems. Police from different states have been drawn for the Kumbh Mela here.

They were trained not to have paan, Gutka and other things. Ganga, The rivers Ganga , Yamuna and Saraswati pass through this place and is called as Sangam. It is considered as one of the holiest places and it is believed that even gods come to bath here. The confluence of these three rivers makes it a holy place and the pilgrims bathe here to remove all their sins.

Kumbh-Mela

A sea of humanity is already seen on the banks of these rivers. It looks like all the roads are now leading to Allahabad. Apart from regular devotees, sadhus, saints, maharajas, politicians and all other sections of people would take the holy dip here. 30000 police specially trained for the event are on guard at the venue. A city made of tents has sprung up at the Sangam of rivers. More than 3 crore people are expected to come for a holy dip on the main day of the event. This continues for the next 50 days. Overall 10 crores of pilgrims are expected to come to the venue in the next one months time. Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are monitoring the Mela on daily basis.
