In keeping view that Ration dealers called for a statewide strike from 1st July, Telangana government has taken all measures to ensure that poor people will not face any difficulty in obtaining essential commodities.
For the supply of essential commodities, Women Organisations will replace default ration dealers. For distributing commodities without any delay perfect plans are designed.
All actions are made ready to supply ration commodities to all the beneficiaries from July 5th.
Commissioner for Civil Supplies Department Sri Akun Sabharwal held meeting with Joint Collectors, DCSO’s, DRDA Project Officers at MCHRD.
Commissioner requested officers to make arrangements for the supply of essential commodities from July 5th to all the beneficiaries without any hassles.
Supply of ration will be from 5th to 10th and taking into consideration of the regional requirements it may be extended.
Telangana government is providing six kilos of rice at Rs. 1 per kg to 2.75 crore beneficiaries through FP shops. It is also the duty of ration dealers to do their duty. But it is very painful that they are neglecting their duty. Many requests have been made to dealers to withdraw strike, but there is no change in their attitude.
To see that poor should not suffer because of the strike with the help of women organisations and available NR Dealers supply of commodities will be done.
Officials are in the process of recognising women organisations at District, Mandal and Village level. In rural level DRDA and in uban level MEPMA officials will keep vigil. Women organisation are given training to keep records.
Officials will help women organisation who got the ration dealership to make payment at Mee Seva Centres on 1st July.
For storage of essential commodities to supply it is necessary to get the space, it is needed to recognize storage place at gram panchayats, IKPs, Community Halls, Youth Buildings etc. Weighing machines should be accumulated. For this help of Legal Metrology Department should be taken.
After this commodities should be shifted from godowns, transport vehicles, Hamalis for loading and unloading should be kept ready. Contacting with contractors more number of transport vehicles should be kept available.
Work should be carried on with the co-ordination of Civil Supplies, Revenue, Village Development department officials at District and Mandal level.
