Prohibition is poised to become a major issue now in AP. Now Jagan the YSRC chief is talking about Prohibition in a phased manner. That is his latest strategy to attract women votes who dont like their husbands booze.
The Governments want revenue and they get with the help of excise department. Liquor is big revenue in any state. Now the Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been incurring the wrath of womenfolk all over the state over his latest excise policy, which allowed setting up of more number of liquor shops and bars to make big revenue.
There has been protests in one part of the state or the other, by women storming the liquor shops and destroying them or stating dharnas on roads . YSRC MLA Roja also spoke on the issue several times.
With no other option the women folk were forced to target none other than Nandamuri Balakrishna, MLA of Hindupur and brother-in-law of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
A TDP leader supposed to be close to Balakrishna has set up a wine shop in the same colony, where the actor-MLA took a house on rent at Hindpur. The wine shop is set to be in the close vicinity of Balakrishna’s house and that led to the anger among the women.
They laid seize to Balakrishna’s house at Hindupur and started raising slogans. They even held a rasta roko in the area.
The women did not move from the place, even after the police entered the scene and tried to disperse them using force. They continued to raise slogans against the MLA.Later, Balakrishna himself came out and spoke with the women and reassured that the shop will be shifted!
There is already wide spread resentment against Balakrishna in Hindupur that he is not taking care of the people here. There is a thinking that Balakrishna might put his daughter for Hindupur and he might shift to the centre as RS member so that he can concentrate on films.
