The Kerala Government is tensed as the Ayyappa Temple in Sabarimala opens today. It may be recalled that the Supre Court has given a verdict for the entry of ladies of all ages into the Ayyappa Temple. But the locals and the Temples authorities opined that the Supreme Court was wrong in allowing the ladies of all ages into the Temple.
While the court talked about gender equality, there are groups of women and men who are stationed at the temple to prevent young ladies from entering the Ayyappa Temple. There are women gearing up to enter the temple in the name of the court order and gender equality. Women police have also been stationed to prevent any law and order problem here at the Temple.
But the CM of Kerala Vijayan has said that they have to follow the court and cannot go against the court rule. He said they would take action if anyone tries to take law and order into their hands. The Temple authorities are against the verdict of the Supreme court.
Women were protesting at Pampa and other places to stop young women under 50 from entering the Temple. The police are having a tough time in controlling the protestors.
