A women’s right to pray the god was constitutional and did not depend on the law the Supreme court said. Once you open a temple every one can go and worship Ayyappa said the court while hearing the ban on Sabarimala that women cannot enter the Sabarimala Temple.
A five-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra said that the right for men and women to worship the god was equal and that there was no difference.
The women were denied not to touch the feet of Swamy Ayyappa because of the menstruation problem and that the darshan was also not allowed.
Every woman is a creation of god and why she shoud be deprived of praying the god one of the judges remarked. Why they should be discriminated in worshipping the god the judges questioned.
The supreme court now cleared the way for women to enter the temple of Sabarimala and worship the Lord Ayyappa.
