Every year the beatified Tankbund is dug for the installation of Cranes for the sake of the Ganesh Nimajjan process. Right now the Tankbund is beatified lights installed, and the pedestrian spruced up with tiles and Chairs were also arranged.
But for the sake of cranes to move in the pedestrian will be dug up by the GHMC and it will take some time for getting it repaired. Even on the necklace roadside the grills will be removed for the cranes to be mounted.
The plaster of pairs and other material dumped into the lake for the Ganesh Nimajjan has to be cleared by the GHMC in Trucks. The Tankbund on either side gets spoiled during the Nimajjan process for around 15 days.
The Shoba Yatra of Ganeshas brings in lakhs of people to the Hussain Sagar from across the city and just come to see the Ganeshas of various shapes and kinds.
It is a big meal on Nimajjan day. KCR the CM of Telangana suggested that the Nimajjan should be done in the Indira park tank so that the beauty of the Tank Bund remains intact.
But the BJP and Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi did not agree with the Government on this. They said that it has to be done in the Hussain Sagar only.
They wanted the name to be changed as Ganesh Sagar. They also demanded that Hyderabad must be called Bhagyanagar. The GHMC must see to it that the beauty of the Tankbund and the Necklace road is not spoiled in the name of Ganesh Nimajjan and Shobha Yatra.
