There is a talk that Prime Minister Narendra Modi might impose lockdown at the National level for about two weeks. But the PM also has made a statement that the states must make the decision on lockdown depending on the spread of the Virus.
The first phase of lockdown has destroyed the livelihood and economic security of millions of people. And although more than a hundred million jobs were lost in the process, the government provided little direct relief.
A report on migrant workers found that about 90% of migrant workers received no pay from their employers and 96% also received no rations from the government.
Telangana Government was at the forefront providing relief and transport to the migrant workers. This not only points to an economic and humanitarian crisis but also has direct implications of various kinds.
The Delhi Government had no other option but to impose the lockdown. Some other Governments are also closing for the weekends.
What will the Telugu states do is the question. The scenario of AP state is worst when compared to Telangana. Telangana Government is doing well when compared to Andhra in terms of finances also.
But if it comes to saving the lives of people, the Government may start with the night curfew. If the situation worsens then it will be lockdown for the weekends.
After trying these options, the Government might go for the lockdown. Right now the CM KCR is under isolation at the farmhouse.
