The CJIs term will end on April 23 and Justice Ramana from the Telugu states will take over as the new Chief Justice of India. Justice Ramana worshipped Lord Balaji today along with the family members.

TTD Chairman and uncle of Jagan was with Ramana and according to a grand welcome with temple Traditions to Ramana and family members.

There is a talk in the political corridors that Justice Ramana may not spare Jagan in the future as Jagan has levelled allegations against him and tried to stop his posting apart from going to the media.

Analysts are of the opinion that Jagan who was in Jail and who is on bail for 11 cases against him, should not have levelled allegations against a judge who is set to become the CJI.

There is already a petition in the court for the cancellation of Jagan’s bail. 11 cases are pending against Jagan and he is evading the CBI court in the name of CM and his urgent work.

The allegation is that Justice Ramana has played a crucial role in swaying judicial appointments in the state courts, which the CM believes was done to swing decisions in favour of TDP leaders who are facing multiple corruption charges.

The media note circulated by AP Government states that Justice Ramana and his “cohorts” had allegedly acted against YSRC government.

The Andhra Pradesh government further accused the Supreme Court judge of sharing a close relationship with the former TDP chief minister. “I am making this statement with utmost responsibility.

I may only bring it to your notice that a former judge of the honourable Supreme Court, Justice Chelameswar, placed this fact on record with evidence,” Jagans’s letter said.

Perhaps this is the first time in the history that a CM wrote to the PM for stalling the appointment of a CJI.
