There is a talk that this time MIM wants to become a Kingmaker. It was chided as the B team for the BJP. But now the party has decided that they would content more seats and win more seats.

MIM party chief Asaduddin Owaisi clarified suggesting a rethink in the party about fielding candidates on a higher number of seats which might put it at odds with the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

MIM will contest Bodhan also Owaisi clarified. Shakeel is the sitting BRS MLA here.

The AIMIM and BRS, though not in a formal alliance, share a friendly relationship. But if the AIMIM contests on more seats in the state polls.

it might split the minority votes, dent the BRS, and end up benefitting the BJP in some constituencies.

Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi said he would make sure the AIMIM contests 50 seats in the 119-member assembly and double its strength.

When it comes to reality like BJP, the MIM is not crossing the double-digit figure in the Assembly.

Hyderabad, especially the older parts of the city, is where the majority of Muslims reside, while districts such as Nizamabad, Karimnagar, and Warangal, as well as parts of north Telangana such as Bhainsa, also have a sizable chunk of Muslim voters.

There is widespread talk that Muslims supported BRS in the last two elections and now they have decided to go with Congress.

Owaisis brother Akbaruddin had said in the state assembly, in response to BRS minister KT Rama Rao’s dig that “the AIMIM is only a party of seven”: “I have taken very serious note of the comment passed on AIMIM.

I will talk to my party president and we will make sure we come here with at least 15 MLAs by contesting 50 seats he said.

In Telangana, the AIMIM has always shared an amicable relationship, with the BRS since the bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh.

But in the end, they will be with the party which comes to power and get things done. KCR has done more than the Government can do for Minorities.

The MIM supported the TDP, Congress and now the BRS.
