The NDA Government led by PM Narendra Modi is creating a sort of record in the fuel prices. The Petrol reached Rs 86 a litre and the Diesel also reached more than Rs 76 per litre. During the Karnataka polling, the rates have come down briefly. But after the elections, the rates have gone up very high having a cascading effect on all other items.
Congress President Rahul Gandhi has been making comments on the rise in fuel prices day in and day out, but no one bothered to bring them down. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi who reviewed the rupee value is yet to make an announcement on the rise in fuel prices. The common man is bearing the brunt.
The prices have gone up very high and the reason being said is the rise in the prices of crude oil. The AP Government led by Chandrababu has reduced the burden of the common man to some extent by cutting the tax at the state level. It is reported that Telangana Government is also thinking on the same lines.
If the centre does not bother about controlling the prices, then the rates may reach up to Rs 100 per litre. On the other hand, the band call given by Rahul Gandhi earlier evoked a lukewarm response. Only some of them observed the bandh for the sake of fuel prices and it was a failure. Unless and until the common man protests there seems to be no respite for the fuel rates in the near future.
