The LPG gas cylinder rates present a big challenge for the BJP, as both Congress and BRS have made populist announcements to benefit the people.
The Congress said Rs 500 per cylinder and the BRS said it will be for Rs 400. Will the BJP give it for Rs 300 is the question.
BJP finds itself facing a daunting challenge in shaping its manifesto for the Telangana elections, given the competitive promises put forth by BRS and Congress.
Balancing their party’s ideology with the public’s expectations will be crucial to their electoral strategy in the upcoming polls. Both the Congress and the BRS have been highlighting the rate of LPG which is around Rs 1000 and blaming the Modi Government for the same.
Modi government has been saying that populist measures and sops will spoil the financial condition of the Government and will make the people lazy.
To some extent that is correct, but all of them want the freebies. Congress won the Karnataka state with all the sops given to the voters.
The BRS in fact was forced to follow the footpath of Congress in making the manifesto.
