Minister for sports Srinivas Goud has warned the HCA President Azharuddin that the Government will take over the Uppal stadium and cancel the lease with the HCA.
Minister told the HCA committee members in a review meeting that it is the responsibility of the HCA to conduct the smooth sale of tickets. He told Azharuddin that this kind of mismanagement will project Hyderabad in a negative manner.
He wanted the organisers to see that the image of Hyderabad is improved with the cricket matches. The sale of tickets at Gymkhana was stopped at noon.
The HCA said that the offline ticket sales were over. They did not specify any number of tickets sold. Thousands of them returned without getting any tickets.
There was a talk that tickets will be sold online after 7pm tonight. We do not know if this is an official announcement or not. The HCA has definitely bungled the sale of tickets.
The police resorted to a mild lathi charge at Gymkhana grounds. The HCA has cheated the cricket fans some of them stated. Additional CP Chauhan appealed to the people to leave the venue.
There was utter chaos and confusion over the sale of tickets. The police distributed Samosa and bananas to the people who were waiting for the tickets here at the Gymkhana.
