Ponniyin Selvan is the latest movie by Mani Ratnam the master director. He is pinning high hope on this movie. It is coming in two parts. The first part trailer is being released by Amitabh, Mahesh Babu and Mohanlal.
But there is talk that this movie might also fail like Marakkar. Marakkar of Mohanlal collected a hundred crores in one language and bombed in other languages.
But Mani is all set to make good money with the Pan India release and also OTT release later. Mani Ratnam is craving a hit for a long time. He has put everything in this movie.
It is a periodic drama. The ace director has invested a lot. Marakkar was also made with a huge investment but it could not sustain for long. We have to see how far Ponniyin Selvan will survive in the market.
The movie is all set for release in September. If there are no other movies in Telugu in September, Mani Ratnam movies will have good collections. These days Tamil films are not doing well in Telugu.
But Vikram the movie did well.
