Arun Jaitley the Minister for Finance is in USA undergoing medical tests. He has undergone a kidney transplant earlier and has to take safety measures for his health. He is yet to return from the USA. There is no news from his side. There are doubts he would be able to present the budget on February one as scheduled. This will be the interim and last budget before the elections.
The middle class and the farming community are expecting a lot of help and announcements from the central government this time. The IT limit is also expected to go up it is learnt. More or less it will be an election budget and the Finance Minister will go all out to woo the middle class and the poor.
Sources in the Government said that Arun Jaitley is expected to return and present the Budget on February one as scheduled. Some have doubts if his health condition would permit or not. Last year also he took permission from the Speaker and has presented the budget by sitting in the house as he could not stand for a longer time in the house.
The things will become clear in a day or two. If it is not Jaitely who is going to present the Budget is also a question. It will be a different budget and more people friendly. The PM will be making a last ditch effort to regain the lost ground in the last 3 Assembly elections.
He will have to stake everything at his disposal to win the next election.
