Sivan who is heading the ISRO now is the son of a mango farmer. He did not get whatever he dreamt. Sivan has been adjusting with what he got. but finally excelled to become the chief for ISRO and now is in International news with Chandrayaan -2.
Sivan had no chappals till his B tech days. Till such time he was barefoot. He used dhooti till B tech times. Our foot was strong he said. He was forced to study BSC as B tech was costly.
After B Tech the jobs were limited he said. Not getting a job in Aerospace sector made him go for higher studies. I never got what I wanted said Sivan. Then he joined Vikram Sarabhai centre.
I excelled in whatever I got and was satisfied. To make best out of the availability. Not getting what I wanted also was my luck Sivan said. Sivan joined the PSLV project then.
The first younger to join the project. Till the first flight, he was there until it was a success. Sivan used to work in Mango fields with his father where the father was able to save one payment.
Sivan was instrumental in launching 104 satellites. It was a difficult job says Sivan. It looked very easy but it was no so. A special strategy was worked out to see that no satellite crashes with the other one during the launch. If they clash the entire project fails.
Today he was hugged by the PM Modi , when Chandrayaan -2 was almost a success.
