Nizam Nawab is popular for worshipping the Hindu gods and also helping the people in a big way when they are in trouble. When there were heavy floods in for musi river, it is learnt that the Nizam has prayed to Lal Darwaja Ammavaru and offered to construct a temple for her. The floods which were supposed to take the city by storm were stopped.

Later the Nizam constructed the temple for Ammavaru at Laldarawaja in the old city. The temple is about 110 years old and it has geared up for the Traditional Bonlay festival which is popular across the country.

Union Minister of State for Home Kishan Reddy, former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya and the local TRS Ministers Srinivas Yadav, Srinivas Goud and others are expected to visit the temple and worship the Ammavaru here while the Ashada Masam is coming to an end.

Apart from Laldarwaja, Bonalu is being celebrated in Attapur and also Upparapally today. Several small temples across the Hyderabad and Secunderabad are today celebrating the Bonalu festival.

It is traditional that even in Golkoda the Bonalu is started first which is a part of the old city and the fort belongs to Nizams. The matha temple at Charminar also has its own historical importance. Most of the Temples, in fact, are built to save mankind from some problem or the other.
