It looks like Whatsapp is trying to set up its office in Hyderabad. Hyderabad will be the base for customer service operations in India it is learnt. The CEO of the company Chris Daniels has met KT Rama Rao the IT Minister of the Telangana Government and has given the proposals to him.
Chris was in India for the last five days and also met KTR. The deal is almost done and in the coming days, we can see the Whatsapp base in Hyderabad. The owners of Whatsapp that is Facebook are already in Hyderabad for the last 8 years and are doing well.
Whatsapp has around 200 million users in India and it needs a base here and it could start its Indian operations from Hyderabad as well. Whatsapp also wants to launch its payments platform on a full-time basis. Hence Chris was in Hyderabad and is working on the modalities to start the base here.
