Is MIM looking at the Congress party in Telangana ? There are reports which have reached the CM KCR that MIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi has been talking against TRS in the presence of media informally. This is nothing new for the MIM and its leader. The MIM always joins the ruling party in power, milks it to the extent possible then brings pressure by joining the other political party.

At the same the Telangana Congress committee, which is desperate to regain its hold in the state and come to power in 2019 elections, is not leaving any opportunity to get the political mileage. MIM has started looking at the congress ever since Rahul toured Sangareddy and there was overwhelming response to him recently.

The Congress party is trying to woo the Majlie-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen back into its fold taking advantage of the support being extended by Telangana Rashtra Samithi to Bharatiya Janata Party. The MIM wants to show that the TRS was supporting BJP all the time at the centre and that would be the reason they want to go away from the TRS in the times to come in the next 2 years.

Ever since the Telangana state was formed, the MIM has been a close ally of the TRS, but with the latter pampering the BJP of late, the Muslim party is angry it is reported. But KCR on personal basis and from the Government side is trying his level best to keep the Muslims happy. But the honey moon between the TRS and MIM is over it looks like.

This is being seen as an opportunity by the Congress, which has lost the support of the MIM during the regime of last chief minister of combined Andhra in 2012. It hopes that the MIM will have no way but to return to the Congress fold. The Muslims are just thinking about the 12 percent reservations.

Congress leader and former MP V Hanumantha Rao appealed to MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi to sever the ties with the TRS, as the latter has chosen to support BJP-led NDA’s candidate Ram Nath Kovind for President’s office.

“The other day, Asad was opposing NDA’s decision to field Ram Nath Kovind as its candidate in the Presidential election. The Hyderabad MP’s objection is that Kovind had earlier described Muslims and Christians as aliens to India.

If Asad is really against NDA’s move, he should immediately back UPA candidate Meira Kumar for the top post,” the Congress leader demanded.Asad is a very shrewd politician and he will take a wise decision for his survival as an MP and also the MIM in general.

On the other hand the BJP is working out a strategy to trounce MIM in Hyderabad. Now this move will force MIM to look at the congress for support. The TRS may not be in a position to bail out MIM leader this time from Hyderabad as it would be facing multifaceted contest or a contest from the united opposition.
