The voting pattern in different states proves that the welfare schemes or the freebies are working. They are fetching votes there is no second thought about it.
Some intellectuals are of the opinion that the freebies will make the people lazy and that the economy will be ruined. But the reality is that it is working like an encouragement to the poor people.
Jagan could win the election in Andhra Pradesh by extending lot of free schemes for the poor. KCR could win the election in Telangana by giving free power and also money for the farming community.
Now Kejriwal in Delhi has won the election by giving free water, power, free metro trip to ladies and also free cycles to the poor students. He has come back to power for the third time and it is a hatrik for AAP.
It clearly indicates that the freebies are here to stay. The economists might talk so many things against the free welfare schemes, but if one has to win they must continue this free schemes.
In fact, the welfare measures free of cost have been stared from the days of MGR, Amma and also NTR. The welfare measures will continue and the leaders extending the same will continue to come to power.
KCR and Kejriwal are the latest examples.
