Cine-goers in Surat have started a new agitation to protect the interest of the movie fans. It is a known fact the multiplexes don’t allow food items from outside. Why multiplexes even the ordinary regular theatres are not allowing food from outside and we are forced to buy snacks food water soft drinks inside the theatre at abnormal rates. Some multiples are adding the snacks and drinks in the ticket. Te snacks rate is higher than that of the ticket. Thanks to the Telangana government now there is no parking fees. Otherwise, this would have been another burden to us in Hyderabad.
The surat National Yuva sanghatan has started a novel method of boycotting the multiples and other theatres. Whoever does not allow outside food, the theatre will be boycotted and no one will go to that theatre. The Mumbai high court has earlier ordered the Maharasta Government that the theatre owners must allow the outside food and water bottles or soft drinks into the theatre and that the theatre owners cannot stop the cine-goers with outside food. But unfortunately, the cine-goers are exploited across the country.
The ticket is Rs 150 the popcorn and soft drink is Rs 250 . This is abnormal and exploitation of the common man. If there is a parking fee for a two-wheeler then add another Rs 50. Each person will have to pay a minimum of Rs 500. If it is a new film then the ticket rates are different for some time. The Hyderabad cine goers must also boycott the theatres especially the multiplexes who don’t allow food inside the theatres. They can quote the court order of Mumbai and take the food inside or else just ignore the multiplex and the theatre which does not allow outside snacks and soft drinks or water. There is no right for the theatre owner to stop us from taking the food inside.
