Some voters in Munugode said that they have got money from one party and that they did not get money from the other party. The majority of them told the media that the Congress party is yet to reach them and give the money.
Some ladies barged into the BJP offices and demanded that they must give money so that they would come for the voting. The general opinion is that Congress is not fulfilling the aspirations of the voters.
In the earlier polls, some villages used to support one party while some other villages supported another party. But this election is different. All the voters want money from all the political parties that are prominent.
There is talk that the minority voters took the money and promised the BJP that they would not come for the voting at all. There was talk of ten thousand per vote so on and so forth.
But the average is that it was around five thousand per vote that the parties could afford. The Congress gave only one thousand per vote they said.
Big families collected around fifty thousand for all votes that they have. The voters of seven mandals enjoyed liquor and booze for the last one month in the name of one party or the other.
More than twenty new four-wheelers were purchased during the election time by the local leaders belonging to two parties here in Munugode. Many electric two-wheelers which are yet to be registered are seen in Munugode.
Snack vendors, and general stores also made good business for the last month. The presence of Congress leaders and cadres was not seen in many areas near the polling booths.
