Visa for Somnath and Charminar Visit: Modi

PM Modi said that -had Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel not worked for unity the Nation, the so-called Shiv Bhakts would not have been able to pray at the Somnath Temple today. He was taking a jibe at Rahul Gandhi the Congress chief who worshipped the shiv linga at Somnath temple.

He was also answering the critics who were against the installation of the mammoth statue here in Gujarat.

If Sardar Patel had not united the Nation, the countrymen would have needed visas to see lions in Junagadh, and shiv Bhakts, would need Visas to perform Puja at Somnath temple and see the Charminar in Hyderabad said Modi in his hour-long speech during the launch.

He was speaking at the launch of the Statue of Unity named after the iconic Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel here in Gujarat.

Earlier the PM Modi also reminded that Rahul’s Grandfather Jawahar Lal Nehru opposed the reconstruction of the Somnath Temple. Nehru wrote against the Temple to the then President Rajendra Prasad who came for the opening ceremony of the Temple Modi reminded.

Modi opined that the statue would be an inspiration for the unity of the country for the present and the future generations.
