Heavy devotee rush was witnessed at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala after elections, the second Saturday of this month is also adding to the regular summer rush.
The darshan queue lines stretched over 5 km after circumambulating the Narayanagiri gardens here, and the waiting time for the darshan for those without tokens crossed over 48 hours. Both the queue complexes at the shrine were full to their capacity.
It started with the would be CM N Chandrababu Naidu coming for the Lords darshan. All other politicians also started coming for the darshan causing some trouble to the regular pilgrims.
With no proper accommodation, pilgrims were seen sleeping in the gardens and footpaths. Telangana CM Revanth Reddy also had the darshan along with his family members.
There is every need to increase the amenities for the common man and giver more time for darshan to the regular pilgrims.
