Vacating the OU hostels has always been a controversy. The hostel students here were beaten black and blue during the Telangana agitation. Now that the educational institutions across the Nation have been closed due to Corona, the OU authorities have asked the students to vacate the hostels also.
It may be recalled that earlier Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao cancelled his trip to OU as the students were in an agitated state of mind. But they were the ones who stood by KCR during the Telangana agitation.
Many of them sacrificed their lives for achieving statehood to Telangana. But now it is better if they can get the hostels vacated and see that the Corona does not spread like an epidemic in Telangana.
K Taraka Rama Rao the Minister for IT and industries has advised the management not to run the educational institutions and also the coaching centres. Health is very important he suggested.
Minister for Health Etela Rajendar said that all the safety measures have been taken and that the people, in general, should be cautious and dod not worry about Corona.
