There is every need to review the flood situation in all the dams of Telangana, apart from the outflows and also the inflows into the dams. This is the first time the flood situation is alarming many dams due to the excess inflow of waters from Maharashtra and also Karnataka.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has already reviewed the situation at Kaleshwaram especially at the Medigadda and discussed the issues with the Engineers and also the officials stationed at the barrages.
He alerted them to be cautious with the water levels rising from time to time. The Srisailam Dam is having a major inflow of the floodwater and it could be full up to the brim any time. There is an urgent need for water management here at the Srisailam dam.
A team of Engineers have already looked into the strength of the dam here and the water which it can withstand for the future. Some repairs were also done here on the advice of the Engineers.
Both the Chief Ministers K Chandrasekhar Rao and also Jaganmohan Reddy have advised the irrigation departments and the concerned engineers to be alert over the flood water and also the filling up of the dams.
The inflows are very high and in some places, there was no other option but to let the water out. many deaths were reported due to floods in Mumbai, Karnataka and also Kerala.
The situation is alarming in some areas of Andhra Pradesh which are low lying.
