It looks like the new in -charge of the Congress affairs in Telangana Thakre has succeeded in uniting the TPCC Chief and Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy.
Political analysts say that if Rajgopala Reddy had won Munugode, Venkat Reddy would have joined the BJP.
Komatireddy Venkat Reddys U-turn is a sort of shock to other seniors who revolted against Revanth Reddy. It appears they, too, would fall in line in the wake of the party’s high command’s direction to work together ahead of the elections to the state assembly in the next few months.
At one stage, there was a talk that Komatireddy would also quit the Congress on the lines of his younger brother Rajagopal Reddy, who defected to the BJP and unsuccessfully contested in Munugode by-elections.
The Congress high command also issued him a show cause notice to Komatireddy on disciplinary grounds, but later, did not insist on the same. It is learnt he has mellowed down after the sacking of Manickam Tagore as the AICC in-charge of Telangana affairs.
But the Senior leader V Hanumanth Rao walked out of the meeting yesterday. There is a talk that all the disgruntled elements will fall in line soon as Thakre is calling people individually and setting things in the right direction.
Congress party is known for internal bickerings and disgruntled elements. All of them cannot be kept happy all the time.
