Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee is all set to project herself as the future PM candidate for 2019. She is holding the United India Rally here at Brigade Parade Grounds. Some leaders have already projected Mamata didi as the PM candidate while some others have rejected the candidature of Rahul Gandhi from the Congress.
Rahul Gandhi may not attend the didis rally it is reported. Mallikharjuna Kharge will represent the Congress. From the Telugu states, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu was invited for the rally. Delhi CM Kejriwal, Karnataka CM Kumara Swamy Gowda, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav are expected to attend the rally. It would be a massive show of strength against the BJP and the rule of Narendra Modi.
The BJP is also planning a huge rally in the same brigade grounds in the first week of February. The brigade grounds can accommodate around 6 to 7 lakh people while Trinamool is claiming about 40 lakh people would come for the rally.
A massive show of strength is being planned by Mamata and she would be an alternative to the PM Modi in case the opposition get the required numbers in 2019.
Rahul Gandhi the Congress chief has already written to the didi that the opposition is united. That means Congress is ready to accept the candidature of Mamata for the post of PM.
The BJP leaders, on the other hand, ridiculed that all the retired leaders from other parties would be attending the Mamata Rally. At the same time K Chandrasekhar Rao the Telangana CM recently met Mamata and impressed upon her to join the united front to fight against the Congress and the BJP.
It is not known if Mamata has invited KCR for the rally. KCR is busy with Assembly sessions here. Even if invited he is not in a position to attend the rally.
