Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, IAS., informed that more than two lakh auto, cab, taxi and maxi cab drivers will be vaccinated in GHMC area at 10 centres over the next twenty days as part of the special vaccination drive for high-risk groups. He said that the vaccination drive for high exposure groups is being taken up as per the directions of the Honourable Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekar Rao.
Chief Secretary today visited Raj Bhavan High School and inspected the vaccination centre where the cab, auto and taxi drivers are being given the first dose of vaccination. Officials informed that all the licensed drivers will have to register themselves in the website of the transport department. They will receive a message on the mobile number and only those drivers who receive the message will be allowed at the vaccination centres. The registration of the drivers in the Cowin portal will be done at the vaccination centre and no walk-ins will be allowed.
Chief Secretary congratulated the Transport department officials for making elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the vaccination drive. Special Chief Secretary T R&B Sri Sunil Sharma, Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar, Secretary Health Rizvi, Transport Commissioner MRM Rao, Hyderabad Collector Sweta Mohanty and other officials were present.
