TTD to be closed on 16nth-Lunar eclipse

The World famous Tirumala Tirupathi devasthanam will be closed on 16nth because of Chandra Grahanam that is Lunar eclipse. The doors of the Temple will be closed on 16nth and there will be no darshan till the next morning.

Lord Balaji’s darshan will be opened at 5 AM on 17nth according to the Temple authorities.

This is the first lunar eclipse for the year 2019. Last year also in the name of Mahasmprokshan the TTD was closed for a few days in July. Later the decision was reviewed on the decision of the then Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

The TTD will remain closed from 6pm on July 16nth and will be opened on 17nth in the early hours at 5 Am. The devotees will be allowed from 11 AM on 17nth after the purification that is Shuddi ceremony.

Al other temples on the hill shrine will also be closed during the Grahanam. On the whole, the Tirumala Temples will be closed for 16 hours.

On the other hand, Pushpayagam is being performed to Govindaraja Swamy at Tirupathi on July 8th.

Meanwhile at Mangapuram Tirumanjanam will be performed for Lord Balaji on 6th and 7nth of this month.

Pilgrims are advised to look into the grahanam period before coming to TTD on 16nth and 17nth.
