Bandi Sanjay the BJP chief who was under house arrest for some time came out of the house and talked to the passengers on the bus over the hike in ticket rates.
The RTC says that due to the hike in diesel rates the ticket rates have been hiked. But the middle-class commuters were unhappy with the hike. The BJP chief demanded that the RTC must withdraw the hike immediately.
Bandi said that he was just talking to the commuters about the hike in ticket rates. But there was no overwhelming agitation against the hike. The people just took in their stride it looks like.
Still, the hike is better than other ways of transport like auto and car. This is the second time that the bus fares have been hiked by the TSRTC. Police officer Sajjanar is trying to revive the RTC which is reeling under losses.
There is also a talk that the process of Privatisation is going on in the RTC from the backdoor. Lets hope the RTC will be revived and the interest of the workers is protected.
