Women Safety Wing Telangana State has completed week-long activities concluding on March 8, being International Women’s Day. The activities have been planned on a daily basis dedicating a day to highlight the importance of modus operandi / module of crimes against women through a variety of activities dedicated to each crime module.
The important crimes against women have been deliberated every day through group discussions, Twitter Chats, posting online creatives, documentary film releases etc. Eminent academicians, legal experts, practitioners, prominent civil society members, NGOs working in this field have been part of these week-long activities.
The Women Safety Wing Telangana state could make an impact to take forward the vision of Telangana state police and has been able to reach online more than 15 lakh women and children both in rural and urban Telangana in this week-long activities.
The final day of the celebration, on the occasion on International Women’s Day. The Women Safety Wing, Telangana State Police, in collaboration with Save the Children, the Legal Aid Center, Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad and Lead Life Foundation has conducted a Virtual Grand Celebration to celebrate the timeless efforts, sacrifices and achievements of women all over the country, especially during these tumultuous times on presence of Mahendar Reddy, IPS, DGP, Telangana, Director General of Police, Telangana, was the chief guest along with eminent personalities across the globe.
Swati Lakra ADGP, Women Safety Wing, Telangana State Police has addressed the gathering and focused on the need of mass awareness among everybody on crimes against women and consequences for committing them.
She explained the importance of partnerships with WSW which is a solution for ensuring Women Safety more effective. Women achieving great heights in all the fields by providing exemplary services to the nation, even during the pandemic explains the sheer dedication a woman has towards her duties and responsibilities.
