The State government has expedited the formulation of Telangana State NRI Policy. Based on the instructions given by Honourable Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, a team of senior officials are visiting Kerala State on Tuesday.
The team comprising state government’s Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma, Chief Secretary Sri Somesh Kumar, CM’s Principal Secretary Sri S Narsing Rao had meetings on Tuesday with Non-Resident Keralites Affairs department-NORKA Secretary Sri Elangovan, NORKA Roots Organization’s CEO Sri Harikrishna Namboodri.
The visiting team held detailed discussions on the measures taken for the welfare of the Keralites living in various countries and the policies being implemented in this regard. The visiting team also studied several policy papers in this matter.
CM KCR had decided to support and help people from the Telangana State who migrated to several countries in search of jobs and are also facing several problems and challenges.
To help these Telangana people, the CM wanted to bring a comprehensive NRI policy. The CM had asked the officials concerned to study various policies, schemes being implemented in other States with regard to the NRIs there. As part of this exercise, the officials’ team is in Kerala now.
