The acting Chief Minister Panneer Selvam will continue for some more time it looks like. Governor Vidyasagar Rao received a report from the police that all the MLAs with Sasikala cam are not with her and some of them were held captive.
The Governor is also weighing options, like if Sasikala can get elected in the next six months time ? Will she come clean out of the court cases. If not what is the status of the CMs post. Taking all these options into account, he is likely to take some more time before coming to a conclusion over the issue.
Meanwhile there is a growing resentment against Sasikala in Social media. People want Panneer Selvam to continue. The support base for Panneer is continuing by the day. The way he handled the law and order situation during the Jallikattu agitation has been appreciated by all the sections of society.
There are allegations that the BJP is delaying the decision on this issue. Legal luminaries are of the opinion that as of now Sasikala has the majority and that she should be called to form the Government immediately. But the Governor gave a report to the centre that it would be wise to continue Panner Selvam for some more time.
Some media channels who could reach the MLAs in the resorts could get bites, saying that the MLAs were not free and they were not allowed to speak on phones and some of them could not get in touch with their families for the last two days.
At the same time there are rumors that elections will be held in Tamilnadu. Some sections of the media have reported that Rajinikanth the popular hero might float a political party. But there is no confirmation from Rajinikanth. The people of Tamilnadu have to wait for some more time to see a New chief Minister it looks like.
