Workers of RTC who are on strike, if fail to report to duty before 6 PM on Saturday shall cease to be employees of RTC. Even in future, under any circumstances, they will not be treated and considered as RTC employees. In the backdrop of RTC strike, the Government has decided to evolve a permanent alternate transport policy to see that the people are not put to problems.

The government is examining three alternatives .

1.To run RTC services by way of hiring three to four thousand private buses.

2.By inviting applications from young men and women who possess a driving licence to run RTC buses and thus provide employment opportunity to them. They will be given adequate training and thus run buses as it is.

3.According to root permits to about six to seven thousand private buses.

The government is keenly watching the situation as prevailing on Saturday evening. On Sunday a high-level review meeting will be held on RTC strike. In the same review meeting, an alternate policy on transport will be firmed up.

As per the instructions of Chief Minister KCR, Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar is constantly reviewing and monitoring the situation arising out of RTC strike and its impact. In this context, the Minister has issued the above statement.
