Training Program for LokSabha Secretariat

Benhur Mahesh Dutt Ekka, IAS, Director General, Dr MCR HRD Institute& Principal Secretary to Govt.of Telangana inaugurated the “Capacity Building-cum-Management Development Program for the Executive Officers and Research Officers of LokSabha Secretariat, New Delhi”.

Sri Benhur Ekka,IAS in his address, said that the Members of Parliament have not only got exceptionally good understanding of the problems of people at the ground roots level but also possess innovative ideas in order to find enduring solutions to them. He called upon the Executive Officers and Research Officers to help the Members of Parliament in converting their ideas into Actionable Programs, Policies, and Schemes.

Continuing his address, Sri Benhur Ekk,IAS a called upon the Officers to collect requisite data from multiple sources, tabulate it, and share with the Members of Parliament, in the workable formats, in order to empower them to take up the public issues in the Parliament and other national and international forums.

Sri BenhurEkka, IASsaid that the socio-economic scenario of the country has been changing at a mind-boggling pace and, therefore, he called upon the Officers to keep their skill sets current and up-to-date in order to help the elected representatives to perform their functions, with a professional touch. “Understanding the role of technology in conceptualizing research projects and executing them will be greatly instrumental in helping the Members of Parliament in a dynamic scenario”, he stated.

Sri Benhur Ekka,IAS emphasized the need for capacity building and stressed that the curriculum designed by Dr MCR HRD Institute will impart necessary skills among the Officers to effectively discharge their parliamentary functions.

Shri PK Malik, Director, Lok Sabha Secretariat said that, since 1976, the Parliamentary Research & Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE), a training arm of LokSabha Secretariat has imparted training to a whopping about four lakh MPs, MLAs, Civil Servants, Newly Elected Members of State Legislatures, Academicians, etc from different parts of Indiaand also dignitaries from over 150 countries, from across the globe.
