APVN Sarma, IAS (Retd.), Advisor to Governor of Telangana, in his Inaugural Address, said that Government jobs, irrespective of different rungs of administrative hierarchy, provide a rare opportunity to serve the society in general and its weaker sections in particular. Continuing his address, he stated that Government pays reasonably good salaries to leaddecent lives and called upon the ASOs to serve different stakeholders, with a sense of satisfaction, without comparing their salaries and benefits with their counterparts from private sector and multi-national companies.
Sri B P Acharya, IAS, DG, Dr MCR HRD Institute &Spl. Chief Secretary to Govt of Telangana, in his Presidential Address, said that the ASOs, who initiate files, play an important role in improving the nature and quality of governance. “While officers at higher rungs of administrative hierarchy are important in their own right, the ASOs, through their competence and commitment, can contribute immensely to the development trajectory of our country”, Sri Acharya stated.
Acharya, IAS said that the ultimate success of different schemes of Government depends on the quality of the work of the ASOs. He advised them to ensure that the benefits of numerous schemes reach the weaker sections of society.
Dr Sunitha H Khurana, former Director, Institute of Secretariat Training and Management, Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India, who was the Guest of Honour, said that an idealism to serve the society is a hallmark of good employees.“Make a deliberate effort to enrich your efficiency,develop a positive attitude, and perform the job with a high level of integrity”, she advised the ASOs.
