Rangareddy Raiders will meet Gadwal Gladiators in the grand finale of the first edition Telangana premier kabaddi tournament at the Ambedkar Indoor stadium Karimnagar today. The meet is organized by Chinatala Sports Pvt Ltd. In the semifinals played yesterday, Rangareddy scored a thrilling win over Siddipet stallions, while Gadwal Gladiators, making a tremendous comeback in the closing stages defeated Hyderabad Bulls.
Captain and the hero of this tournament Mallikarjun rose to the occasion and turned the tables in Gadwal favour with his skilful raids. Gadwal, who were just one point ahead at the halftime lost momentum after break and suddenly came under pressure. At one stage they were in jeopardy of losing as Malli was out of court with a few minutes play remaining.
But poor defense of Hyderabad Bulls cost them as Mallikarjun was revived and raided brilliantly at the crucial juncture to win the match for Gadwal. All eyes will be on him today in the finals. If his wonderful form continues, Rangareddy will be in trouble. Muneesh in raiding and Ameer in defense can shine for RR it will be an interesting contest.
