Toopakula Gudem as Sammakka Barrage

Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to name Toopakula Gudem Barrage being constructed on river Godavari as Sammakka Barrage in the name of the great Adivasi warrior and Goddess of forest Sammakka.

In this regard, the CM has instructed the Engineer-in-Chief Sri Muralidhar Rao to issue a GO naming the Toopakula Gudem Barrage as Sammakka Barrage.

The CM said that the development in Telangana State is becoming possible and happening as planned with the solid blessings of the three crore goddesses.

The CM has remembered that with the completion of irrigation projects certain baron lands are getting Kaleswaram waters and many barrages and reservoirs have been named after different goddesses.

On Thursday the CM is visiting Kaleswaram project. In this connection CM KCR has conducted a review meeting with concerned officials at Pragati Bhavan on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion the CM has stated that as desired water is being filled in the Kaleswram projects. Barrages have become full. From the forthcoming rainy season water inflow will increase. From Pranahita to Lakshmi barrage flood water need to be lifted from time to time and diverted to respective canals. Irrigation department need to be alert from no onwards in this endeavour by making required arrangements the CM stated. As part of achieving this task works need to be divided among the concerned department the CM suggested.
