The price of Tomato is uncontrollable. The chilly rate is also touching Rs 15O a Kg. Chicken is more than 3OO a kg. Mutton is around Rs1OOO a Kg. Oil rates have shot up. Fuel rates and gas rates are also very high.
The rates will continue the same for the next two months. The rains have receded and June has recorded very less rainfall. Most of the vegetables are on the higher side.
There were times when Tomato was dumped on the roads as they did not have cold storage facilities. The sellers in retail are happy to some extent that the rates are going up.
But on the flip side, the rates of Onion are ok. Even rich people are thinking twice to buy vegetables. Some curry sellers at the curry points have increased their rates.
Dal which was sold for Rs twenty a packet is now thirty rupees. The Government must look into the issue and try to sell vegetables through the PDS at a cheaper rate for the poor people.
Even the dal rates are also going up. But the wages are not on the rise and people are losing the IT Jobs across the country. Consumers must also stop using high-rated vegetables for some time so that the rates will come down due to low demand.
