The auspicious festival days begin from today in the name of Toli meaning the first Yekadasi from today for the Telugu people across the world. Being an auspicious day for Lord Vishnu the people go to the Temples in large numbers today. All the compartments at the TTS are full with the pilgrims and they are also standing on the roads.
Some pilgrims will do the fasting today and they dont sleep in the night in the name of Jagaram for the Lord. This is also called as pelala Yekadasi where the gods come to the earth and bless the people.
They say that God goes to sleep from today and he wakes up for Mukkoti Ekadasi. This is also called Seyana Ekadasi. That is the reason people go out and have the darshan of the gods in the temples. The main temples in the Telugu states are decorated for the first festival Toli Ekadasi.
Some people start their projects today as it is very auspicious.
Lord Vishnu should be worshipped with Tulasi leaves. We can worship the cow also today.
