Tirumala Tirupathi gearing up for Brahmotsavams

Tirumala the Temple town is gearing up for the prestigious Brahmotsavams. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and some central ministers are expected to participate in this event. Security has been beefed up at the hill shrine as a precaution. The checking for the vehicles and baggage has been intensified following the over flow of the pilgrims in the recent times.

The TTD management which is deeply engrossed in giving final touches to the arrangements for the nine-day annual Brahmotsavams scheduled to commence from October 3 has resolved to set up about 19 LED screens at all the vital points around the mada streets to enable the devotees have a better look of the two-time daily processions of the deity – that forms the core part of the mega festival.

Talking to media after presiding over a high level meeting with officials of various departments at Annamaiah bhavan , TTD JEO K.S. Srinivasa Raju said that a decision to ban the plying of two wheelers on both the Tirumala ghat roads on the auspicious Garuda seva day (October 7) had also been taken.The decision will come into force from the mid night of October 6th and be in place till 6.00 am on October 8.

Taking into consideration of the voluminous increase in the vehicular traffic the management has hammered out a concrete plan and also identified special parking lots this year for the benefit of the devotees.

The management also came out with a novel idea of providing ‘food on wheels’ to those waiting in the open top galleries along the mada streets besides setting-up of food points at all the vantage points.

The TTD board members thanked the vegetable donors particularly from Chennai, Tiruppur, Chikballapur, Vijayawada and Madanapalle for their indefatigable patronage and urged them to continue their noble gesture in a big way.

The TTD kitchen is also gearing up to meet the demand for Laddus on the eve of Brahmotsavam for the 9 days. The officials have also taken the rain into consideration and wanted to take make alternative arrangements for the vaahana sevas in times of heavy rains.
