Priya Ramani the first lady to be summoned by the court in the defamation case filed by MJ Akbar the former Union Minister and Journalist said that it is time to tell our story.
The Delhi High court has summoned Priya Ramani to appear before the court on the issue of sexual harassment and other charges that she made against the former Union Minister.
More than 20 women Journalists made allegations of sexual harassment against him and he denied all of them. He brushed them aside and filed a defamation case against the lady journalists who worked with him.
The MeToo movement has brought to light a lot of issues faced by the women who worked with Akbar when he was an editor.
The statements of seven witnesses including that of Akbar was recorded by the court. Further investigation is going on.
Following the allegations, Akbar resigned to his ministry and is continuing as a Rajya Sabha member.
Several women have given their account of harassment and as to how Akbar violated them in the hotel rooms and misbehaved with them in the office.
