When compared to last Sankranthi this year it is a big flop. Yes, we are talking about the movies released.
Last year it was Chiru and Balaiah along with Sherwanand who ruled the box office.
All the 3 films Gautami Putra, Khaidi 150 and Sathmanbhavathi were hit and did good collections at the bookings.
But this year two movies released did not do well. While one is a declared flop, the other is struggling to get stabilised. One of from Jana sena Pawan and the other is from our Balaiah babu. Balaiahs film Jai Simha is doing OK in Andhra, Agnathavaasis is not doing well here and there.
It is rumoured that lakhs of people went to Andhra this time for Sankranthi and a majority of them watched Jai Simha. Both the films had traces of old film stories and themes. While Balaiah is knowns for his usual masala themes. Pawan came up with a copied theme and his old movie plots.
Lets hope we will get to see movies with some fresh stories and themes this year in the near future.
