The popular Ganesh Idol of Khairatabad which is made of mud is slim and trim this time. No doubt it is tall but it is not having he shape and bulky nature of the Ganesha.
It looks as if the makers have stretched it to increase the height of Ganesha. The face is also elongated and the shape does not represent a real Ganesha this time.
This is like a Ganesha on a diet. The face and stomach of Ganesha should be big. But this Ganesha’s back is also slim and from a distance, it looks like a cutout and not an idol.
There is very less life in this Khairatabad idol. The snake behind also looks as if it is fixed on the top and not natural and part of the idol. It looks like an extra fitting.
We can say that this time the idol makers have failed to give a good shape and life to the idol which is over sixty feet. It is not that attractive as such this time.
Governor Tamilisai is participating in the first Pooja of this idol today. Some are calling this idol as Machar pahelwan. The glamour is missing with this Ganesha.
Lets hope they will make a better idol next time.
