Mega-producer and owner of Ramanidu studios Daggubati Suresh Babu was very right in releasing Narappa on OTT. He made some profit also. If he would have waited for the theatres, the movie Narappa would have bombed at the box office.

Now Drishyam 2 and Virataparvam will also get released on the OTT. That is the only way to go to the audience as they are not coming in large numbers to the theatres.

The movies which were released in single theatres failed to attract the audience. The premium viewers of the movies have got used to laptops and TVs.

With this, producers of several upcoming biggies are contemplating opting for an OTT release. Reports are rife that Nani’s Tuck Jagadish is also likely to go the OTT way. It is buzzed that the film is on the verge of inking a deal with a prominent OTT platform.

People like Narayana Murthy and also some exhibitors talked against Suresh Babu, but who will take the brunt is the big question.

Why will any producer lose money by coming to the theatres? Suresh has done the right thing and the other producer was also happy that they did not lose money by giving the movie to the OTT platforms.

It will take some more time for the audience to the come back to the theatres. May be RRR will change the game.
