The talk of early polls

As the 2024 Lok Sabha elections draw nearer, numerous Opposition leaders have broached the possibility of early polls. The remarks come ahead of the opposition meeting that includes numerous Chief Ministers and top leaders including Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Rahul Gandhi.

Chandrababu Naidu the TDP chief hinted that there will be early polls this time. “Nobody knows when the Lok Sabha polls will be held. It is not necessary that Lok Sabha elections will be held next year only. It is possible that it may be held before time, that is, this year itself,” opined Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar .
Mamata Didi also hinted at early polls and they could be by the end of this year. Actually, they are scheduled for the next year. Odisha’s ruling BJD has long insisted that they are ready to take on Lok Sabha elections – whenever they may be held.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday dismissed speculation about early elections and laid out the road map for the next Lok Sabha polls by stating the party would be more careful in the selection of candidates and show greater unity and discipline.

The reduction of LPG cylinders by two hundred also indicates that the polls are coming soon. There is talk of a reduction in fuel rates also. This could be for the Assembly polls in five states.
The Telugu states are already in the election Mode. KCR has already begun his district visits and sounded the poll bugle.

Lokesh the TDP leader and Babu the TDP chief are extensively touring the length and breadth of AP. BRS has already released the list of candidates.
